r4i gold? sounds suspicious, r4's are terrible to get now because basically everyone is a clone now because the original r4 team was sued or w/e so they stopped making them.

did you try dragging the files from the "wood" folder to the card? works for my original r4, if not try searching youtube, i remember seeing some guides on how to fix a clone.

i'll probably spend an hour or 2 youtubing today...it's an r4i gold upgrade sdhc...and apparently wood r4 only works with non sdhc =(.

gonna test now to see if non sdhc will work with my card

also i found a website that says i need ysmenu so trying that
