Yes, it has a built in hard drive, but you can get an SD card which holds non-wifi accessible game data on it, or Homebrew Channel

not to mention the hard drive is only big enough to hold the equivalent of a few guitar hero songs

Yeah, I hate that :\ I gotta get myself a huge SD card to hold my RB songs...
