I had an option get Wii or get Xbox360 or Ps3 but decided to get the wii. Yes i have played the wii more than 8 hours...you acn even look at my wii record. Thing is i couldn't stop playing becuase the games were rested (lol) so i wanted to pass then b4 returning them. But i don't play the wii much and i only bought it for SSBB which is bairly coming out at 12am. When i get SSBB i won't leave my wii for a while...so i will play for more than 8 hours. Yes the ps3 and xzbox360 are fun and all....but right now the games im wanted are not out so untill then.

I just sat down for 9 hours playing SSBB beating the SSE on hard, very fun.

In an interview with Shigeru Myamoto, he said that one of the aims of the wii is to make games fun for all ages, children, teens, adults, everyone. I know for a fact that this has worked as often times I'll get home from doing whatever I'm doing and my mom or dad is playing the wii, telling me that I'm gonna have to wait if I want to play Zelda or SSBB.

wii is designed to be a family game... aka all the multiplayer games its released in comparison to the others. and ofc noone will sit there for 8 hours playing the wii. they did that on purpose mainly for parental support. noone can pysically swing their hands for 8 hours straight without getting some sort of pain or strain on their arms. Therefore, it promotes getting off the wii, as well as physical action to go against all the people locked in their rooms playing 24/7 halo3
