Let's hope that Sakurai stops trying to do everything to make it a party game and goes back towards a more Melee-esque direction with it.

true, but it's usually it's alot of characters(brawl) VS more advance techniques(and faster paced, melee) in the game.

both could easily be putted in 1 game, making both sides happy

True but nintendo was promoting family play, which a lot of people loved.. but 'pros' hated. I'm sure they wont make it too complicated. I played a bit of melee but never got into the whole wave dashing etc... and thats why i preferred brawl, it was our drinking/ get together game and was great on a friendly and non-competitive level.

Long story short, its preference.

I heard they're adding in a new feature, narcolepsy. Not only will you randomly trip from time to time, you will also fall asleep in crucial moments. This is to mimic the fighting style of Chuck Liddell

You could still get together and drink and play melee. Taking out wavedashing didn't make it a family game, a "pro" will slam any family game player with or without it. I fail to see your argument here.
