I've never played the series before, I just picked up the free demo and got my ass handed to me for a couple hours. The game is pretty sweet though. After a while I figured the best weapons (for me) is the hammer and the long sword. They'er the only 2 weapons I was able to kill the first monster with w/out getting sent back to camp on a stretcher. I have no idea how anyone could use the bowguns effectively.

Anyone got some game/weapon tips before the release?

Gamestop's have several coppies free of charge. The game gets released the 20th of this month.

I wish we had those then.

The Gamestops here don't even have Battle toads and yes, I've asked.

it's the best fucking game out there you have to be prepared for every battle (can buy and combine stuff to trap the monsters)
fight can take 10-60 minutes lol xD and it gets nearly impossible to kill them alone later ingame ...
the first monsters are usually easy to kill compared to other ones

Yep, i found that out real quick. I was able to stay alive just fine using the sword + shield combo, but i could not kill the Great Jaggi? within the 20 min time limit.

i always tell people to check 4chan when i get calls like that

if 4chan bullshit is all over this game then i will support internet cencorship and 4chan will be GGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWNNNNNNN. it's not good anymore anyways
