I just upgraded my internet from 12mbps to 200mbs

When I tested my speed on my phone it says 250mbs

But when I tested it on the PS4 it still says 14mbs

It’s taking for ever to download a game still
I tried disconnecting the WiFi on the PS4 still the same
What can I do to fix this?

Edit I tried changing my dns primary to 8.8.8.8 and secondary to 8.8.4.4 still the same

This is 2020
I shouldn’t have to do that to get fast speeds
I called AT&T’s they told me my modem/WiFi is outdated, and I’m paying for 1k MBs and only getting 200
They are shipping a new one
So let hope this fixes the issue

Also my switch is at 100mbs my PS4 should be near or around that at least

Try to configure your connection manualy there a few thing you can change

Look on youtube some videos show what to do

ya but ps4 wasnt made in 2020.

test your computer wired, wireless and ps4 wired, wireless. you will see a large difference between wired and wireless

my computer wireless will always be faster than the ps4 wireless

also, you still wont get large download from ps4 wired either. my dl on comp is huge, 500+ or something, ps4 is only 167. both connected via ethernet cable

Those tests are never accurate
Makes me wonder about my router
I bought it 2 maybe 3years ago now
Still running strong from what i can tell though
Reset it periodically, like once a week
Just shut it down for a minute and start it back up
But you rent yours from your cable provider
I think they systematically make them run shitty after a while
They wanna tax you Left and right and make you rent their shit

2020 or not ethernet is gonna be the best way to go if you wanna maximize your dl speeds.

I’ll be happy with 50 with WiFi
12 is what I had before the upgrade
It feels like dial up with that speed
It takes 24 hour to dl a game

wifi is redundant for game consoles.

its the ps4 man. I had the same rage... its maxed out at a low dload speed.. then you have to copy lmfao

Its the reason i switch to the xbone x

Now im getting what i pay for in download speeds. Steady 250mbps to 350+ mbps and no copy.. would be nice to max out my 1Gbps though.
