Most of my FIFA experience came with FIFA 14, where I almost always got down the side of the pitch and crossed into the box for a shot.
FIFA 17 plays a bit differently, and I'm currently stuck on trying to breakthrough to win constantly on World Class difficulty. I feel comfortable on defense and with my passing, but I have difficulty with attacking the goal and getting shots off.
When I defend, it seems the AI (and humans) charge down the middle of the pitch with no end to players following up to pass between. Whenever I attack, all I ever see is 1 dude in the middle of the pitch surrounded and I never seem to be able to have a 3-on-3 break or anything close to it that everyone else seems to constantly have.
I usually end up passing across the pitch, backwards and up inches at a time, and working the ball up to the penalty box before a pass gets intercepted or the ball is taken away.
I've been trying to release shots quicker from even the edge of the penalty box, but the result is almost always the same. On World Class difficulty, I usually average 45-50% possession but only 2-3 shots on goal, and the other team usually gets about 10 shots and 2 goals.
I've tried different formations and tactics, and different combinations without any fruit. Does anyone have any tips? Is there a way to send my mid-fielders up the pitch the second I get the ball so I can have somebody to pass with in the middle of the pitch?
