So I don't play games nearly as much as I used to, yet somehow managed to absorb all of my PS4's HDD. I'm told you can swap out hard drives easily.

What brands/sizes/prices do people go for that are efficient and also will not void the PS4 warranty?

Also found this, seems simple: http://www.ign.com/wikis/playstation-4/How_to_Replace_a_PS4_Hard_Drive

upload save data to cloud.

delete games you dont play.

save money.

I say this because I have no knowledge of messing around with the ps4's hardware.

its ridiculously easy to change the hard drive itself, the most problematic part is downloading the right firmware to a usb and installing it on a fresh hard drive(which again isn't hard at all). I Put a 500GB SSD in 13 months ago and couldn't be happier.

I didn't even have to do that lol. I literally threw it in and it setup by itself

Everything copied over from the old harddrive as well. No idea how that happened but it did lol

I prefer Seagate's just tokeep the same brand I already have going but Western Digital is fine too.

You need 2.5 inch

Doesn't void warranty. They support hard drive swapping.

I use western digital blues.

Whatever you do DO NOT USE ECO DRIVES

But yeah seagate, Samsung or western digital and you can't go wrong with the exception of Eco drives

So wait, you removed your old harddrive that had all your game installs on it and installed a new empty harddrive and now all your game installs are now on the new harddrive?

So when upgrading, are people buying 1-2 TB hard drives and swapping their old ones out, or are you guys simply just putting in an external hard drive into the USB port?

How are you guys transferring your current data into the new hard drives? I read somewhere you can do it all online via cloud or something. Back when I had an Xbox 360, I swapped out a larger hard drive and had to buy special cables for the purpose of transferring. Is this the same case for ps4?
