so i was playing bf3 and my ps3 turned off and flashed red, turned it off and unplugged it and turn it back on, it turns greens beeps 3 imes than flashes red

Sounds like it's fucked. There are probably fixes you can attempt at home that may restore it for a while, it's worth a try, but ultimately, you'd be better off buying a newer and used model.

apparently it's pretty much YLOD. All the fat models are prone to this problem, so it was bound to happen eventually.

It had a good run. Just be happy it lasted this long. Check YouTube for fixes, I never had a ps3 so I'm not familiar with all the tricks on their red death lol. It's time to upgrade anyways though.
