so, you prolly know i got my ps3 from a friend, i fixed the disc drive.. needed a new laser, runs games fine now...

he said he didnt know the drive was broken, so he said i could download destiny taken king from his psn as payback, so i was wondering if it possible for this to happen?

Yes

Make a new Playstation user, and login with his PSN. Then you can download all his digital games/dlc for free.
