Hi

If i copy the mkv. movies on a USB-Stick, its possible to play it on the PS4. But is not possible to stream the movies on the ps4 over my home-network (LAN-cable connection - location of the data is my pc).

Did i made something wrong or is this simply not possible?

/e - music, pictures and other videos are possible to stream, .mkv only works with usb

what are you using for the media server I watch mkv over my server

500gb western digital hdd

The folder shows up on the ps but in the folder is "no playalbe data"

But on the stick the same data can be played

Download Plex and there will be no need transfer to a HDD because you can stream over your network.

when i tried it on my ps4 before when it first came out i needed plex pass

That's using the Plex app. But you can go to media player and stream over dlna.

plex app works fine on ps3 and thats my media server since ps4 is now in a separate room just got my plex setup almost 300 movies i needed to get posters for
