is it the same as a pc power cord? they look the same and seem to have the same amount of wattage

e: i got the fat ps3 not the slim so it uses this cord

and not this one

after googling it seems you can however peopel were asknig about cords that were able to have twice the wattage
my cords are identical 10a 125w cords so im thinkin :thumbsup:
imma try it and hope it doesnt fry my ps3 but if it does... ah well i guess









well.. doesnt seem to work it goes in but its loose on the ps3 and didnt seem to pwoer it whatso ever o.O

nothing lol

but ive been d/l the supercross races since i cant watch them on tv anymore and my dad likes to watch so ive been setting up my ps3 for him to watch on thumb drive
got an extra hdmi cord there n if i had an extra power cord bonus... not that big of a deal but just for convenience really
didnt seem to work it felt loose in the ps3 plug and it wasnt giving it any power not sure if cords bad or its not touching all the prongs or somethin

I know you said it didnt work already but it wasn't the cord that dictates the wattage it would be the internal transformer.

The PS3 cord doesn't have a grounding plug and it has a completely different device plug in.

tbh I've been switching my ps3 and pc cord without any problem. I don't even know what cord is plug in what atm and I got no probleme for my ps3/pc.

Yeah it did occur to me that he is probably talking about the "first gen" one just after I typed my previous post.

the fact i said i have a fat ps3 and even posted pics of my cord didnt give it away ? :wallbash:


e: haha i just plugged it in with pc cord by accident and its working o.O
grabbed wrong one and thought " this seems shorter" then noticed it was the pc cord as my ps31 was beside the controller
