I consistently get download speeds of about 3kb/s, it takes me roughly 5~6 minutes to see my game downloads go up by 1mb, and my actual download speed from my isp is about 2.6~3.4mbps on my laptop or any other device on my network including a wii u and xbox 360. I've made sure nothing else is draining the internet away and I've tried manually switching to google's dsn and an open dsn to no effect. This is quite a conundrum I feel like it's 1996 again and I'm trying to download a song over my shitty aol dial up connection while constantly being kicked off by mum making calls.

Manually setting my DNS completely fixed my download speed issue. Did you use the 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4?

Ungortunately this doesnt work for me tho :/ may be because i'm from germany

Edit: there are several tools that test all the available dns servers and pick the strongest one.

wirless and yes I did try the 8.8.8.8 dsn I believe that's what came up as googles when I was trying to read some guides on enhancing speed but to no effect so far. Lol it took me 4 days to download all my psn games on my new ps3 and I could have downloaded a file with every ps3 ISO ever made on my laptop in half the time -_-

Reconfigure you're wireless settings on the playstation. Check your router settings to make sure it's not blocking the ports directing stuff to your PS3. Make sure upnp is enabled on your router.

Easy solution. Plug your PS3 into your router and turn it on. Don't even need a tv.

Also keep in mind that PS3 will not download games while you are actively using it to game. It downloads slowly while you are on Netflix and not at all if you're watching a movie as there is no active psn connection while you are watching a bluray.

If you have ps+ set it to download stuff while you are at work or asleep.
