Okay so my ps3i s rip, from i suspect possibly water damage (i was moving back to school and these lysol wipes that were in the same bin opened and got the bottom of the bin wet)

So i tried to get it working and it wouldn't including taking it apart and cleaning it out, what is happening is no light over the power (red or green) but i could hear it power on and the fans start, i could eject discs but no display and it shut itself down after maybe 20 seconds, then the white light on the power button and eject button would stay on for a few more seconds and shut down.

When i fully unplug it the red green light would show Yellow (YLOD?) and then disappear but only when the system is completely unplugged and only for maybe 5 seconds.

So i gave up, took it home and put it on a shelf.

Well i was back visiting my gf and she is napping right now, so i decided fuck it lets see if a miracle happened and it did.

It now turns on, stays on displays and can run games and read discs, but the green/red light never comes back on even when it is on and running.
about 20 minuets into testing some demos and netflix and discs etc (wanted to test many features) it randomly ejects the disc i had in it, i was playing a demo at the time so just said meh and kept playing
5 more mins and it shut down on its own the back light on the buttons stayed on for a second longer than the display and fans but then it was 100% off.

When i unplug it still goes yellow light for a few seconds after unplug., and when i turn it back on it comes back up and works again for a while before repeating.

Any ideas on what the issue is? I assumed power supply ay first but it does run, I can hear the fans im pretty sure they are at full speed (based on the sound) display works disc works, Hard drive was all still there.

I am relatively electronic proficient if i can narrow down what the problem is i am capable of ordering a part and replacing it myself i just don't wanna order a power supply without knowing for sure that my issue.

Do you think its MOBO corrosion? would it run at all if that were the case?

If anyone is able to help me thatd be great, I can find similar problems but not my exact circumstance online

That's what it does when it overheats. Sounds like you cleaned it out so it might not be quite that but it's the same behavior
