Yesterday My ps3 pretty much shit itself

its failing to boot, turns on for about 2 seconds, turns off with a red flashing light.

tried installing a new hdd and putting new thermal compound on it, cleaned fans etc.
anyone else know what it could be?

if not i'll probably go buy another tomorrow.

Try booting in safe mode? I'd look up the process but just got home from work so very sleepy

Prolly. It could be a number of things and yellow/red light never is a guaranteed fix by any means. Usually anyone who fixes I recommend get the data you want off of there and replace it. Or run it till it drops doing regular backups so you don't lose what you want to save
