I have the 40gb system that came out on release.. been playing the new ffX HD game and now recently its been just randomly turning off and blinking red light. Few days ago it happened once but i turned it back on and it stayed on. This morning I tried to turn it on but the light went green for like 3 seconds and then flashed orange for a second and then went to blinking red light.

Is this the YLOD ?? It's flashing red so I hope not, or is there any fixes I can try before I officially say that it's dead.

Make sure everything is plugged in tightly.

Tried everything and finally tried what YouTube said to do. I blow dry it for about 5 minutes and then put a fan on to cool it down and it now works perfectly....who knows for how long lol
