havnt played a fighting game like this in years and i didnt know any commands not that i could execute them anyway

that's because you were probably playing the standard character and the guys you went up against had characters with added strength and power bonuses
its a fairly easy game if you're familiar with the series
I used King and always remembered his 10 hit combos since tekken3, so I just kept smashing people with those
but I stopped playing when I earned the 100% completion, as I do with 98% of my games

I'm not that good so cut me some slack

you know those 10 hit combos are not real combos lol

they are just cheesy strings that can be stepped and parry'd
