i dl'd the 4.53 or w/e to my flash drive and installed it fine
yet now the via internet one says .55? which isnt on the ps website at all?
is it safe to download over internet or what....where is it on the site?

No site it's on ps3 for via internet install 4.55 :/

just read a few forums and apparently it fucks up ur ps3 so it wont read discs...so dont download it guys i guess :/

I got the 4.55 update last night and then a few minutes later my system froze and I had to reboot improperly
I haven't put a disc in the drive to see if it'll read my discs or not
but i'll check that out later

Friend updated and his works fine. U got me nervous to update mine now tho.

Updated earlier and I'm playing lbp 2 right now no problem. Via disk too.
