Ewww using a guide. Might as well have someone else beat it for you.

Hardly. Every ff game I've ever played....so since ff7. I've used a guide for.
Love running thru the game and not missing anything.

But sure, get upset cause someone does something different from you.

I understand using guides and such but I just can't stand using them on a first play through. I enjoy figuring stuff out on my own. Especially when it comes to puzzles and stuff. I just feel using a guide on your first play through takes a lot away from the game.

Games are just incredibly short and easy already. It's incredibly boring to play a game if there's no fear of dying at any point because you're over prepared for every twist and turn that could possibly come your way. I myself have always felt that using anything outside of your own prowess when playing a game, also diminishes that tingling sanctification you get when you've completely destroyed a game.

Games are short enough already... not to mention that nothing in a guide is going to actually get you good at the game lol. Just curious on this, with the FF7 guide, did it even cover Chocobo breeding, final limits, special arena, knights, mime, any of the end game bosses? My first time playing I was 7, so I obviously didn't make it very far. My first play-through that I remember vividly was when I was 12, and the entire game (with the exception of Ruby/Emerald) was a damn breeze. Figuring out how to beat those fuckers took me weeks of trial and error... Only reason I ever beat Emerald was by pure chance on figuring out his attack that does damage equal to the number of materia equipped.

I'm about 9 hours in. Just got second king weapon from end of chapter 2. Everything has been real easy. I do have the guide and following it to a tee. Doing all side quests before moving on helps immensely.

Well of course the games going to be easy with a guide lol.

And yes jade the game is worth buying the gameplay and mechanics is amazing and as the others said the story is all over the place.

Will be picking it up this week then.

I was mostly concerned about the combat system being ass (looked dumb to me from trailers). Glad to know most people seem to agree that the combat is the most solid thing about the game, that alone makes it worth buying.

Thanks for the input gents.

It's not even a bad story. It's just told very poorly. Apparently some patches are going to clear some of it up but whatever.

Finished the game last night with 84hours 32minutes played, finishing out at level 92. Every trophy collected on the way through except the cooking/photo/fishing ones. Was an alright game, story felt rushed tho. Not enough side quests. Curious as to what the DLC will bring and online play for future.
