I essentially felt the same way that many did about the whole "6-year old protagonist" thing. Also, the demo is kinda shitty, not a really good way to gauge an RPG considering the gameplay isn't usually the selling point of most RPGs. Not trying to say the combat isn't good, but the demo places you in situations that aren't very far into the story, therefore your party, arsenal of spells and familiars are all very gimped and not entirely impressive at that point.
Regardless, not going to rant and rave over the game like some fanboy trying to convince someone to get the game, but I will say this: Anyone who isn't willing to give it a try will definitely be missing out. I'm glad I gave it a shot, glad something like it made it to consoles this gen as the quality RPG department has been starved nearly to the point of death.
