Do you have to have the app in order to unlock ingame customizations like suspensions, engines, turbos. Or is the app just pure cosmetic for other things besides the license plates?

I THINK whatever you can do in-game you can do in app too. I might be wrong

but I'm 100% certain you can upgrade your engine/suspension/tires/etc. in-game because I've done it without having the app ;) just drive to a tune-shop

I should have worded it better. Can you unlock every car upgrade etc. in game no problem without the app? I know the app you can do license plates, but i'm wondering if it allows you to do other stuff.

You unlock the upgrades through game progress no app needed you do need the app for chop though
