What you guys seem to not like about it is what makes it special. If this game had a map it would be terrible in my opinion and boil down to the feeling of fetch quests (go here and do this, go here and do that).
Game is not hard in my opinion. If you are having difficulty it is on your approach. Granted I am experienced with the souls series but I cake walked through the entire game.
That's the thing that irks me.
"This game is not hard, I beat souls 39 times, this is easy in comparison."
Well fuck yeah, obviously it's going to be easy FOR_YOU.
I can say the same thing about world of warcraft that I've been playing for 10 years.
You enter this tiers final raid boss, you will most likely die in the first 2 seconds of the fight because of a mechanic, whilst I will think it's fucking easy as shit because I've done it 2000 times before and wonder how you manage to tie your shoelaces if you can't dodge that attack.
I specificly said that I did not want a map that pointed you to where you should go, but a simple way of checking where you've already been would be beneficial to me as a first-time player.
I am really sorry if I come across as a total douchefag, but that is the stereotypical response I see from a souls-veteran when someone ever so slightly questions the game-design choices that were made.
I will definately give the game another shot later tonight, but I am afraid the same issues will irk me. Or it might not, only time will tell

EDIT:
Woah, I just re-read what I wrote and I really sound like a douchefag. I am sorry, I guess the 3-hour-sleep is getting to me.
No offense to anyone was meant.
