So, after playing this game for approx 2 hours I can safely say that I really want to like the game but I just cant. So many things that just annoys the dick off of me.
Maybe Im just old and old fashioned ( or stupid for not finding it ) but is it too much to ask for a map? Backtracking to where I got backstabbed and gangbanged for the 7th time is just impossible cuz in my eyes, everything looks identical.

The most annoying thing for me personally tho must be the sense of not knowing what the fuck im supposed to be doing. I literally spent 2 hours faffing about, got killed somewhere then I spent Another hour trying to find My way back.

thats where the fun of this game is its supposed to be a very difficult game

I never said I thought the game was too hard, I was merely explaining how I felt it was very frustrating not to have a map. I am not asking for a modern yellow-arrow-pointing-to-the-next-point-of-interest, but maybe some sort of Diablo 2-ish map where it only shows stuff you have previously explored.
That being said, I will most likely give the game another go tomorrow when it's not 4 in the morning, but still.

To me it feels like that basicly the game is telling me to go fuck myself for not playing the previous souls-games. When making my character, I had to google what the different stats did, because the game sure as hell didn't tell me. You can check it after you've entered the game, but I found no button whatsoever that showed me more information than just: "This option starts with 2 more Arcane". Well, thanks I guess.

See, this is where I'll get shit for saying it, but I feel that too much difficulty is artificial and just forced upon you. Sure, the game is "supposed" to be hard, but some of the choices made are just retarded in my eyes.

a map doesnt really make it easier monsters are still hard and if you could open the map and run at the same time that would cause equa lamount of deaths to exploring trying to find your way

i agree it could use a map lol

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that they should make it any less difficult, the gameplay is fine, it's just that there are things surrounding the gameplay that makes it harder than it has to be (that's what I mean by artificially harder), like the lack of explanation in the beginning, the lack of sense of progression, where you feel you need to go etc.

I did quite possibly rage abit too hard since I played it for 2-3 hours at 1 in the morning to about 4 and I have now had about 3 hours of sleep and I am at work, but after a 2-3 hour nap when I get home, I'm planning on giving the game another go.

drago....you need to slow down and take shit down 1 enemy at a time...this isn't souls so you can't take on several enemies at once, at least not yet. Dodge is your parry and is your best friend. Conserve what you have unless needed. Loot everything you find and learn the map..like central yharnam, I farmed and walked all over killing everything till I ran into the cleric beast, then I knew I had a goal, level up and stock up accordingly. If needed search up some vids if you get too frustrated.

Hassemannen...do the same..I was the same way at first and after dying several times because I didn't know what to do or where to go I slowed my roll and took it in as it came to me. ROM also gave some good tips but he likes giving riddles so not to ruin the game. But do like I told drago and you should do fine and will start enjoying the game.

And not to spoil but these should be your first 3 main boss battles:

#1 Cleric Beast - Central Yharnham, on bridge with 2 werewolves
#2 Father Gascoigne - Central Yharnham, path by the Cleric Beast.
#3 Blood Starved Beast - Old Yharnham, past the gattling gun grey wolf hunter, beware of poison.

Hope this helps you guys, and as soon as you get 10 insight, get the small resonate bell, you can also get other helpful things as well, but once you go below 10 you can't access it until you get 10 again.

I think what will help me the most is not playing the game at 2am ^_^

Also, the Cleric Beast being on a bridge with 2 Werewolves. Are those werewolves 2x the first mob you encountered in the starting area? (The one I beat with my fists because I had no idea that you could get your weapons from talking to the helpful tips-ghosts on the ground in the Hunter's Rest).
If so, I think that's exactly where I called it quits, I got to the bridge, killed the 2 werewolves and then I died to something and went to bed.

Just going to restart the game when I get home tho, I had no idea how to read the stats on weapons and such so I picked the axe, which really doesn't suit my playstyle at all (Fast 1handers ftw).

Sadly, I am REALLY bad at remembering / memorizing the way I came from and stuff, but I guess I'll get better. I also need to learn not to just bring up the axe and cleave 2-3 mobs at the same time (does not always end so well, apparently).
