Tales of Symphonia 2

regardless of the generally accepted fact that reviews are the stupid/retards way of determining whether or not a game is good

there was just too much wrong with that game for it to live up to other titles of the series, I still beat it and enjoyed it but after releasing vesperia it was not what I was expecting at all

graces was incredible though, and xylia will be too

I know you generally don't play the games you talk about but whatever

i actually enjoyed tos2 more than the first
and just in the first paragraph of the review made me wtf
"An awkwardly translated, incomprehensible story?" i found the story was easily comprehensible
i admit it does have flaws, but as a whole it was a really enjoyable game especially for the fact it was an escort title instead of mothership title

and on that last part i actually typically do play the games i talk about xD / plan to play eventually

well yeah the first was is old and outdated, this one had a much better battle system so obviously it was going to be more fun

as far as the story goes, it makes sense but thats about as far as I'd go, its really corny and lacks proper voice acting(not to say this isn't true for most tales games, but normally a tales game has a more entertaining story and at least a few characters that you can say oh yeah they did their part very well I like that characteR)

but vesperia took it to another level as far as gameplay goes, and symphonia 2 just dumbed it down again, which makes no sense seeing as graces brought the bar even higher from vesperia, vesperia was WAY too easy, graces was challenging when it needed to be and never frustrating

symphonia 2 however had one boss in particular that was way way too hard, that girl and the dude with the iron maiden, I almost didn't beat that game for that one boss alone

well as for the dumbed down combat that follows along with it being an escort title (pretty sure hearts, tempest, and that other ds one had a somewhat dumbed down combat too)
i don't really have much to say on voice acting, but i do know i would've preferred if i had the option for JP audio (Marta is voiced by my favourite JP VA, and that alone made me consider softmodding my wii for playing it undubbed)
and as a whole for the story ToS2 was needed to fill in a major detail between the first game and phantasia
as for bosses my only real issue i can remember on first playthrough was the final boss

the stories are insignificant to each other, just because they used the same world doesn't mean there were plot holes or anything like that linking the 2 together

I read a little thread on another website where people read WAYYYY TOO FAR into it, and it's really not that interesting anyway

the only hard boss fight in that game is this one right here, no other bosses were hard at all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXvUpnjDpc4

and it was a really lame fight too, unlike any other in the entire game

/e why would you want to listen to a language you could not understand?

i do have a small understanding of it
i take classes for it, and watch a shit ton of subbed anime

and there is too much that links them together for them not to be same timeline (iirc i even think there is a mention of 2 moons in somewhere in phantasia with the names sylvarant and tethe'alla, but don't quote me cause been LONG time since i played) along with the planet being Aselia still and dherris kharlan's existance, the tree spirit, the eternal sword and the 2 swords related to it (vorpal and flameberge) you don't need to go all that deep into it to realize the connection
and tos2 makes sense in that respect as in phantasia the tree starts out dead which means no mana which means the world should've been dead had ratatosk not changed things
