Well, using a spell like firebolt, you can regenerate more mana then the spell costs before the enemy is done staggering.

But yeah, leveling enchanting for -% is obviously better. Archmage robes/mask are just great temporary items.

my items alone do -118% i can use any rune 100 times without running out of mana. has been like that since i maxed out enchanting.

on a side not arch mage robe is a good for learning the enchantment. i used it on a dragon scale -25% destruction and another that was -15% destruction so my scale does -40% destruction all on its own

Right, I had 40kg at one point and spent 18k to pimp out the Dark Brotherhood hideout and then rest to level up Destruction. Now I am back up at 15kg, so i'm going to save a lot and then level Enchanting. I'm just confused how you go about leveling that besides going to an Enchanter and having them level it.

its pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

1) collect all soul gems. Every single one! from every vender and every mob you kill.
2) keep all items with nice effects. So you can disenchant them and learn the effects.
3)collect up alot of low weight items (hoods,boots,gloves,rings,amulets)
4) go to an enchanter (good place is dragonsreach)
5) disenchant all your items you want to learn the spells from (this levels up your enchant)
6) start to enchant everything in your inventory. (low items get low soul gems)
7) you will want to start putting points in to enchant as they become available. (20%,40%,60%, and so on)
8) sell off what you have made and buy more soul gems. (you will make more then you spent and get bad ass gear)

Woah, thanks. So can I disenchant items by myself? Let's say I am slaying dragons or whatever and I pick up something nice and want to disenchant it, can I do it on the battlefield or would I be required to go to the enchanter in dragonsreach and have him disenchant my stuff?

has to be done at an enchanter. but can be done at anyone. dragonsreach happens to be an ez one to get to. you dont need to pay to do it. just there for use. Can sell the stuff you make to that guy though.

Where is the Enchanter inside Dragonsreach? Is he the magician in the robes that sends you to go get the Dragonstone?

yeah they all work. petty,less,common,grand,black they all work. They do need to be filled though.
