GT is definitely more of your "Simulation" kind of game. It all matters how big of a car nut you are and what your taste in racing games are.
like Krat said above, Forza has a lot of cool features, but overall GT5 is more appealing to me because of how realistic and sim-like it is for me. Forza is in the middle of being an arcade game and a simulation racing game. Wereas GT5 is just strictly a sim game. The CEO of GT5 is a professional race car driver himself who has the a couple of endurance races himself and won so you can automatically know what to expect out of this game
They're both fantastic games. I would play GT5 and Forza if they were both on the PS3, but as Krat said, I would definitely spend majority of my hours on GT5... maybe when I have friends over we'll play Forza but on my own time I'm definitely gonna play GT5.
