Yeah but it is undoubtedly going to be compared to the Pro which is $100 less.

Honestly though, 3 consoles in almost 3 years. Microsoft seems to be grasping. The sad part is they seem to not understand at all why they are so far behind.

Thats me. PS4 and a Switch. Occasionally touch the Vita but I played the hell out of it so it has had a long life.


But these iterative consoles don't interest me. I can appreciate the power, and to be honest the power at that price point is not even that bad.
But, if I was truly interested in 4k gaming, it wouldn't be on a console. For $1500 you can part together a top-of-line PC.

I get your point about the library. Definitely an issue of late.

But your logic about the console models is inconsistent. Sony released their third console iteration on an even shorter timeline. The final one being a flawed half-measure. So, they'll probably have to release another model in the next few years.

You are incorrect. They released the pro around the same time as the s was released and they promised every game that runs in the pro will run on the regular ps4. And it was only their first "upgrade" to the ps4. The one s and one x are both upgraded versions of the one and Microsoft said they would try to make every game playable on the previous versions. Not gauranteed like Sony did.

Also if you are counting the slim as another version you are extremely wrong. Sony always releases a slim after the main console. It isn't an upgrade it is a side by side to hit the chapter markets as it is usually cheaper with slightly less quality than the launch version. Unlike the S and X which are "upgrades" the slim isn't worth purchasing if you have a launch console.

Disagree. The S isn't worth purchasing if you have a launch One.

You may think that personally, however that doesn't change the fact that it is an upgrade to the system.

This S doesn't run orig One games better

It may not do much but it does indeed have upgraded internals and improves gameplay.
