the black hood? you can just phase out and dodge attacks anyway. it is a waste of an item slot if you focus on the combat more imo

Beat 8 chapers last night lol. At the beginning if 14. Boss fight at the end of 13 was freaking hard.

When your fighting 5 tonberries or 4-5 ronin in the locked dungeons its extremely nice to not have to worry about dodging because if you mess it up one time your instantly down. I am not sure how far you are but I have finished every single hunt and every side quest in the game except for the final locked door dungeon where you cant use any items and am about halfway through it now and without the black hood most the end game hunts/locked door dungeons would have been far more difficult especially the one I am on now where you cant use any items so having it automatically phase for me and block for me is a huge bonus.

yea i am sure that it can make some things easier, but you can accomplish the same things without it. using controller style b makes it incredibly easy to phase/dodge/counter almost every single attack without breaking your dps chain. if you play this way, you dont need the black hood and can replace it with another accessory and boost your power further in other ways. i have almost maxed the game too and i dont use the black hood.

What happens with the black hood and ring of lucii? Can you just auto kill everything by afking?

Most high level things can't be killed by the ring or take an incredibly long time/ too much mana usage so nope that's not a thing lol would be OP as fuck

Also you don't evade and block every attack just a good majority

You don't understand because you haven't done the final dungeon when you can't use items but it's okay How many locked doors have you finished?

Do you even have the black hood?

Successfully hit 100% completion. Every hunt, side quest and dungeon all completed just waiting for new game + and whatever else they will be adding.

Idk how u can get plat in 30 hrs but there are several videos on YouTube with people doing it. You have to ignore all the unnecessary quests. Personally I'm 11 hrs in so far and have completed everything 100% before progressing- all bounties and side quests available. This game will prob take me a hundred hrs to plat without using a guide playing while playing on normal which I'd prefer. Loving it so far.

Yeah I didn't use any guide's so it made certain parts take a lot longer then it could have but I enjoy figuring things out on my own. Game is really fun and the talks of new playable characters and the dlcs for gladios, prompto and ignis makes me excited for what's to come!

The trophies are easy to get was surprised they didn't have one for completing all hunts, side quests or dungeons. But there is so much to do after getting every trophy.

I do understand. Check this out:

With black hood: not 100% dodge rate, so you occasionally have to use the dodge. need to use the defend button anyway.
Without black hood: look you get another accessory because you are going to use the defend button anyway.

I am telling you that I can dodge the attacks and don't need the black hood. You're into this game, it is all about min/maxing for every situation. It is a great item. Very convenient for a lot of things. But you can be stronger without it.
