Sony never got hacked. They only sent out a precaution to double check your statements and make sure everything is alright.
and Sony actually has more servers than xbox ever will.
and also, they were simply doing maintenance and making sure their system is always more superior than the xbox and that's why it was down for a couple of days, no big deal.
