Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed that the upcoming sixth entry in the racing simulator series is also being considered for release on PlayStation 4.

England, Yamauchi told IGN, “We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind, but for this holiday season, we thought it would be best for users to release on PS3 for now

if this is true it wouldn't push the ps4 system to it's limits like gt5 did with ps3
gt6 will probably just be a port from ps3 version

yeah, no doubt GT6 will more than likely be better than GT5, but I believe when they release a new gran turismo on the new console exclusively THEN it will be another revolutionary sim racer that will probably become as realistic as iRacing.

but at the same time I'm happy it's coming to PS3 because that means I can use my G25 with it :D

Gran Turismo 5, has sold over 10 million copies. That makes it – by far – the best-selling PlayStation 3-exclusive to date

GT6 needs to beat this

First gameplay.I'm so disappointed it's coming to the PS3 and not PS4 ><
had way more potential if it was on PS4 imo

I can tell the physics are greatly improved

I'm calling it GT5.5
I mean I'm super super SUPER excited about it. but at the moment I'm not having my expections like I did with GT5 even though GT5 was a fantastic game. I feel like GT6 is just an improved GT5, things that GT5 lacked like premium looking cars and tracks, etc.

the next gran turismo on PS4 IS going to be the best thing ever made though no doubt. They have SO much more power to work there. GT7 will definitely close the gap for real life and game simulator. I think it was a bad move for PD to release this on the PS3 honestly. PS4 is coming holiday 2013 so why not make it a launch title for the PS4?
oh well

If you’re eager to give Gran Turismo 6‘s new driving physics a try for yourself, you won’t have long to wait: the official PlayStation UK site has confirmed a demo of the game will be available to download on the PlayStation Store in July 2013.

After the successful introduction of DLC to Gran Turismo 5, publisher Sony and developer Polyphony Digital are planning an even greater range of expanded content for their upcoming sixth entry in the vaunted race sim series.

“I think we cut our teeth on DLC with GT5, and had some reasonably good success. We definitely have a desire to take that to a whole different level,” said Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Jim Ryan. “Monetisation is obviously a very important part of that, just in terms of business, but equally important is providing an ability to have sustained, ongoing engagement with the consumer over months and months, so they feel wrapped up in this whole GT world.”

While Ryan wouldn’t be drawn on the specifics of Gran Turismo 6’s DLC plans beyond new tracks and cars, he did indicate information will be coming soon. “There’s stuff I just can’t talk about because it’s not announced yet,” he said. “[Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi] was very clear that there’s stuff in the pipeline that can’t be spoken about today because he needs something to get on stage and say at E3 and Gamescom. We – and I’ve got to be careful what I say here – but we definitely have ambitions.”
