Tried playstation now yesterday when a friend was over. It said I passed the connection test but holy fuck is it laggy as hell, have to pause the game every time it starts lagging.

Are you wired or wireless?
I and a few others (wireless with good-great connections) experienced bad connections/lag
PS Now recommends you be hard wired to your router..i wonder if it really makes a difference or is it just a bad laggy service no matter what

I'm sure it makes a difference but it's impractical for some users like myself because my router exists a floor below me and I can't change that

Yeah me too. My router is in the living room where as my electronics reside in my bedroom and I'm not changing my setup

In my old house I ran Ethernet cables to all the floors but now that I am in my in-laws I have to do everything wireless.
It's too bad since I just bought a really good router.

I could buy a really long Ethernet but even that is impractical as it could be tripped over in both my room as well as on the stairs.
