I'm thinking of going High Elf Mage Vampire, since Illusion spells get 25% increased damage, as well as immunity to poison and diseases, and 50% frost resist added.

Only downside is I lose 50% fire resist, I become completely vulnerable during the sun, and I have to feed unless I want to level up to max level and then not be able to do any quests.

So, just finished the main quest, maxed sneaking/blacksmithing/one-handed, etc.

Is there a way to play this game that does not get EXTREMELY overpowered once you hit the mid 20's? I kind of got bored playing as a stealth/dual wield character, killing dragons in 3 seconds flat (that whirlwind shout is BS), and one-shotting everything else.

Thinking of trying a mage next ^_^

You could always upgrade the game difficulty, the max level is 50 by the way.
I am playing a High Elf Mage and it is really a fantastic experience man, I finished the College of Winterhold quest-line and now working on Dark Brotherhood. After that is finished, i'll probably return back to main questline.

I've been playing on master ever since I hit level 30.

The game just became way too easy after maxing blacksmithing. 420 armor and 80 damage weapons. It's ridiculous.

Hoping a mage will be a bit more interesting to play.

All of you who whines about the game being too easy, are you even playing on the highest difficulty?

yes

i play on master with my stealth char too, i don't use shouts and don't upgrade my weapons/armor at all with smithing though
i feel like a handful of things should be nerfed, they definitely made sneak very OP and using smithing and enchanting in conjunction is way over too overpowered as well
i still love stealth though but i was thinking of starting a mage too, master level battles will be more time consuming though

Yeah, if they patched dagger stabs to a more reasonable number...like 8x...and made blacksmithing like half as effective as it currently is, I'd be hella happy with the difficulty.

Hoping playing a caster will be harder than my stealth character, though, since you aren't really wearing any armor.
