thats not how to get to anor londo, you gotta go to senna's fortress and complete it, and at the top of it, it transports you to Anor Londo. ... and just to let you know, that ghost town area should be the one of the last things you do in the game...

well im at the fortress but i keep getting fucked up by traps

i followed the path it led me to a bunch of stone giants and a ruins with the butterfly boss.. did i go to far?
these stone giants by the way drop a sick sword+shield but there heavy as fuck shield is 20lbs swords 18 lol ( i used the gltich n gave myself 99 humanity so i got mad drop rates atm LOL
any good guys to farm for items ^^

as for butterfly shield, it doesn't have 0 def...it's just super low and i think it's only 80% phys reduc, but higher in magic and the sort, you need a +10 shield and butterfly soul.
as for fog ring, you need to be rank 3 in the forest hunters covenant or you can trade the crow a skull lantern for it (usually better to do in second playthrough when you can get your hands on a second lantern)

and yea, this game is slightly more forgiving, you can request absolution (pay to atone for wrongs you've done to npcs) for a price.
i believe the formula is 2200 souls x your current level, so i had to pay like 13200 souls haha, i was level 66
