Base pay increase just eliminated every raise I've gotten over the last 6 years. Now the guy who started a month ago makes exactly what I make despite my being here the last 6 years. Not happy right now

Now that it's increased what should you be making considering you've been there 6 years?

Well considering my yearly merit increase was only 3 weeks ago. Had this been 3 weeks earlier I would've gotten my merit percentage on top of it.

This happens far too often and its only bullshit because I'm almost to the point of what's the point of going above and beyond to get better yearly reviews when I'll lose the effort when they change the base again?
