The PlayStation 4 only allows the developers to use 6/8 of the cores available to it. Not only this, but the PlayStation 4 CPU is that of a mobile device or laptap. It clocks in at 1.6GHz meaning it has a ridiculously slow CPU by that of Desktop PC standards. Even AMD FX-4130 is a 3.8GHz Quad-Core which blows the ever loving piss out of the PlayStation 4s CPU. All of this at a low 70 USD or less price point.

The graphics card on the PlayStation 4 is that of a budget minded PC. It isn't bad, but it isn't anywhere near what I would call good. It is however a good choice for the console.

The PlayStation 4 uses 8GB of GDDR5 RAM. However it should be noted that 3GB of this ram is specifically dedicated to the OS of the PlayStation 4 leaving around 5.0 to 5.5 available to developers.

The PlayStation 4 only comes with a 500 GB Hard Drive which has been expressed before that it simply isn't enough. A 1TB Hard Drive is rather cheap on PC and you could make it come stock with your new Computer.

As for hooking your new Computer up to a T.V. or Monitor you would do this in the same fashion you would with your new PlayStation 4. Every T.V. comes with either HDMI Cables, DVI, or VGI all of which will work with the graphics card on your computer.

As for keyboard and mouse compared to that of a control for your PlayStation 4 there are very cheap solutions. Personally I found that the Amazon Basic works wonderful at a price of 11 dollars. As the picture at the bottom shows.

As for sound. It will come through your T.V. just like your PlayStation 4 will do. But I mean come on... You already spent 100 dollars on your PlayStation 4 wireless Gold Headset. So I'll give you a comparison. Koss makes some solid headsets under 20 dollars. You can get a clip on lapel mic for a single USD that sounds better than most that come stock in headsets.

This leads me to the last thing. Upgrading and Cheap Games. You will be able to upgrade your PC to meet your needs if you want to. With a 400-500 dollar PC you wont ever have to if you fallow the lines of this console generation, but you might want to and you totally can. Games are renown for being cheaper on PC. This is just a fact. If you buy games exclusively on PC and on sale you may find yourself saving money in the long run.

you act like pcs dont use any of its hardware to run windows and the million other programs it has i mean shit my pc is using 3.3g right now if i had 4g that leaves 700mb to game fuck yeah! d2 ftw
the 8 core allows the ps4 to multitask much better then a 4 or 6 core would on a pc with equal hardware
let alone the lesser ram 4 gig of ram on pc is useless it wont even be enough to meet minimumn requirements to new games

you need to get a windows and lets keep in mind its gotta be a modern one or else it wont be able to play new games also

i admt the ps4 video card isnt the best but for a $400 console its a solid card and should be able to output decent graphics.. sure thers no 4kp or anything but we didnt pay $1000 for the console

yes pc games are cheap but you know why its because you register that 1x use anti piracy code to your account n the game is now worthless
u cant borrow a friends pc game anymore but console? fuck yeah u can
that $20 u save is $20 we get back when we trade it in or if we sell it on kijiji ect ect console games keep value

2 of those cores is dedicated to the OS. It wont be used in the playing of video games. That leaves 6 cores that clock in at 1.6Ghz. This is an extremely low amount of processing speed for anything gaming and is even slow for simple browsing and entertainment. Not only that, but it's an AMD CPU. A dual core 3.0Ghz Intel CPU like and i3 would out preform the PlayStation 4 CPU in every category.

Your computer isn't the baseline of every computer. I'm running at 43% of usage of RAM with a game in the background, VLC open, Firefox open, Mail open, and Weather open. Given I do have 8GB of DDR3 ram it doesn't mean you wouldn't be able to buy another stick for under 30 dollars if you felt you needed it.

Windows is expensive. It's around 80 dollars if you want to buy it legit from Microsoft. There are plenty of ways to get it cheaper and more than one way to get it for free. Than again if you're building a pure GAMING system like that of the console you can use free Operating Systems like STEAM OS.

That last comment you made makes no logical sense what so ever. If you would care to explain I would take the time to comment.

most of those builds prob come with a 1 ram slot mb so unlikely u would be able to "just buy another stick"
and the ps4 cores i think run 1.56 it but during gaming it goes up to like 2.6 or something
googled quick and found this most just say 1.6 but its way too fast to be processing with a 1.6 lol
Frequency: speculated to be running a base clock speed of 1.6 Ghz on a 2.75 Ghz capable chip
Custom CPU for background processing such as downloading and recording gameplay.

its prob got like a 1.6 base speed with 1.15ghz for other shit as needed

ok your argument is pc games are cheaper and new games are usually $20 cheaper
but once you install it all you can do is play and uninstall it if you beat it and want to trade it in or sell it or lends to a friend you cant because its linked to your account
you would have to sell your account but then what about the other games also linked to that account? well fuck

your right you save money but console games keep value and you can do more with them i cant trade in 5 pc games for a new one but can trade in ps4 games for another ps4 game
i cant sell a pc game on kijiji for $30 but i can go sell a console game or swap it for another
if a freind want to borrow my bloodborne disc i can do that if he wants to borrow battlefield 4 or d3 or gw2 on pc fuck that hes not getting my pw

Every single modern MOBO comes with 4 slots for RAM. There are a few exceptions, but they don't factor in to the global way of things.

With Game Sharing on apps like Steam you and a few friends and family can play the same game. In essence it works the same way the PlayStation Share things works to my knowledge. Although you can't sell the games you buy it also means you will never be without them. While selling games you don't want is something that consoles have that PC games don't you also can't get many of the indie titles that sell for 9.99 on consoles for under a dollar like you can on PC. Selling a game you payed less than a dollar for in the end doesn't seem worth it.

It's the one thing console have going for it. The transfer of physical media. I have no argument for it because it's a nice thing to have. I just think this one plus side to the console is overshadowed by the many pluses to owning a dedicated gaming PC.

PCpartspicker has 1 MOBO with only 1 RAM slot. And that is out of over 1800 different MOBO's.
Also it is $65 USD.
