I have to agree with him a little bit.
I can't pinpoint my objections exactly because I don't know everything to formulate an opinion.
But, outside looking in it seems like gun control in the States is flawed.
There is no perfect system
You can put a control on guns and people will still acquire them illegally
If people are going to acquire them illegally anyways then I would like the right to own one legally to defend myself from them
Canada has gun control but the gun violence is 1/4th of the US gun violence
Canada's population count is also 100x lower than the US
So if you scale it then it's actually at least the same if not more(it's more)
It's better to have one and not need it rather than to not have one and need it
You can give me all the scenarios you want.
At the end of the day if a bad guy is threatening me or my family with a gun or knife, then I would like to be able to defend myself and them as best I can
Of course that's not to say I'm going to go looking to shoot him down. If I'm able to retreat and get me and/or my family to safety that would be priority. My self defense weapon is exactly what it is,a self defense weapon. I'm only going to use it if I have no where to retreat and have no choice but to use it.
