Wait for the incoming patches that allow us to use USB headsets again. Then as it stands now I'd get the Sony pulse elites. If you can hold out a bit longer sony and turtlebeach have a partnership for the ps4 headsets and I'd wait to see what those entail.

If you're looking for straight headphones you could use on a pc for listening purposes and not necessarily for chatting purposes there are a number of options I could give you as well.

If it's not for the living room/main room I wouldn't go that big. I've heard from a few saying that anything bigger than maybe ~35 it starts to suck for shooters.

That's why I listed the important specs. If you want the best of the best, then yeah you are right, but there is so many personal decisions the op has to make that we can't possibly know. Like budget and environment.
