I don't even know wth you're talking about in your first paragraph so I'm just gonna ignore it.
but dedicated servers do guarantee lag free gaming.. or else wth are they for? dedicated servers mean there is a dedicated server for the game you are playing on, so you don't have to rely on someone elses internet speed. the reason why you lag in CoD is because the hosts little brother is streaming porn on the other computer or his mom is checking her facebook n shit. wereas a dedicated server is dedicated for that one specific game. The reason why new release games with dedicated servers lag is because the developers don't know how much to account for their servers, more and more people buy the game during the first week so everytime they add a little juice to their servers it gets full, and that's why after week 1 or week 2 at the latest you won't encounter lag.
Why do you think so many people hate CoD and love BF? because it is truly the gamers game.. the developers CARE about us and give us what we want and they don't try to steal our money instead.
Dragoneth said servers in BF2 were EA provided because they used some default server name with EA in it. I was responding to that.
Dedicated servers were made for PC because if the host crashed the game ended. It was especially needed in early PC gaming when everybody had garbage connections. They certainly aren't "lag free" since you don't have everybody in your game sitting next to the server. I don't lag in COD btw. If it lags it finds a new host and we keep playing... I lose like 15 seconds every 20 minutes. The longer I stay in the game the more likely I'm host so I'll pretty much never drop.
@bold: No idea what you're talking about here.
Lol I'm pretty sure COD has more fans. After all the garbage things EA has done in the past it must be hard to say they care with a straight face.

why would anybody pay money for aserver if they cant directly join it on console???
likei said it was prob pc u were reading up on renting and users paying for servers is more a pc thing.. ive never seen/heard of it on console
n ur right it doesnt gurantee non laggy gaming they could have dedicated servers over populated and end up with more lag.. but im yet to see it
Ask EA... I found that they offered rentable servers for BF2 on console. I searched console bro, already told you this lol.
I played CS for 6+ years and I faced a lot of lag on quality dedicated servers even though I was only playing with 10 people. I can't see BF's dedis being any better. They're paying for them so obviously they'll try to save money whereas we had a very good dedi for CS matches.
