yeah they were crazy expensive, the only way to get a decent 4k monitor was like through a korean site and buying a no name model that uses brand name panels but has a small defect

was absurd, they definitely coming down in price. Idk about Sony releasing a 4k player tho

Maybe with their new bluray discs. That'd be cool. I haven't seen a comparison of 4k and 1080p though.

games on ps4 have a hard time hitting 1080p/60fps


4k is out of the question

From what I understand the hardware isn't there in the ps4. Pc's can do it but it's expensive.

Hopefully a reasonably priced 4k tv that doesn't have frame drop during games or movies soon

You should search it.
Once you understand the ttechnical stuff(which is pretty basic), 4k blows 1080p out the water by a huge margin
The difference is probably the same as comparing a tube tv to a 1080 led 240hz

I would've bought one but the ones already out have problems and frame drops so I bought high end plasma instead
Maybe next year when it becomes standard and up to par I'll get one
