Going to be kind of crazy I think. No more under water battles. :o Monsters getting an AI boost.

Monster Hunter 4 is different from its predecessors in its strong emphasis on 3-dimensional movement. Walls can now be climbed more fluidly and in any direction, and for the first time, Hunters can grab onto monsters and attack them. Environments shown also appear to be larger than before. The monsters in this game are terrain-aware and will use the environment to their advantage. The game also features a traveling base camp that can be travelled freely. Underwater battling is removed. The game has the most NPCs of any Monster Hunter game to date. The game also has online multiplayer. Monster Hunter 4's director, Kaname Fujioka stated the game will have a larger focus on adventure and story progression than previous Monster Hunter titles. As seen during the Capcom Summer Jam event, players are now able to attack whilst midair. Two new weapons have been added: the Neopteron Handler and the Charge Axe.

A new "Guild Quest" system has been added. Guild Quests feature different missions for each player, and will generate random equipment with slightly alternated stats. In order to access more weapons and armor, players must trade their Guild Quests with other players using Guild Cards or the StreetPass function. Up to 50 missions can be saved for future use. The solo counterpart, the "Exploration Missions", features different missions everytime. The mission will feature in the "Unknown Sea of Forestation" and generates a different map for every mission. The equipment generated features different slots, different attack or defense stats and different elemental stats. Some of the equipment is unique to Guild Quests and Exploration, and features old armor designs and monsters from previous installment that are not in the game, including but not limited to old Khezu, Rathian and Rathalos armor sets, Qurupeco Slash Axe and Barroth Great Sword.

although the lack of underwater battles will make the game easier to get into without a CPP cause imo that's what it's most useful for

I use mine equally for both underwater and on land, but I use the trigger a lot to camera snap on the monster.

Yeah I bet lol. I use the right circle pad often for some quick camera adjustments as I find it quicker than the D Pad.

Don't really like how the camera angles are kind of pre-set in certain angles.

ya the preset angles for the Vertical camera are kinda bleh at times, but it makes sense for the original d-pad camera design imo
