The amount of connections a DDoS attack attempts to make to bring the server down is outstanding. Are you honestly suggesting they have enough server capacity for every player and for a DDoS attack?
Can you even fathom how expensive that would be? Do you even realize that it isn't even possible for a server that size to exist?
