If you like VATS you should try it sometime. Once you get Big League lvl 4 with Blitz 2 it's over. Upgrade the Rockville Slugger and you can swing all day, hit multiple enemies per swing and do some pretty outrageous damage.

Great for sneaking too.

Yeah it gives you extra carry weight and a damage boost at the highest rank

Melee gets to be very overpowered if you have the right skills

You can grab like any melee weapon in the game and 1 shot people

or this super sludge from "hammer"
i 2 shotted a super mutant with it iirc

I got dog armour, seems to work a little I think, not really sure. The companions always go down.

And yeah its an armor mod I believe. Ive found enemies with stars before, only red stars though. So I've gotten pistols and other weapons such as kellogs pistol and some other stuff but never armour

The higher your difficulty the better chance of legendary item.

Also more luck i imagine.
