fixed it...theres a second flexible circuit board that has to be connected to the main solid board. they werent fully connected so it didnt turn on

The problem in that post wouldn't give any power to the controller. There's a new setup for these new controllers. Everything is held down by these small clips

The two analogs have their own separate flexible circuit board. I don't even want to touch them

Worst comes to worst, buy a new one exactly the same as the broken one, swap them and return the broken one at Wal-mart.

Idk. I just wondered why I didn't sign in when my ps3. Hit sign in, accept twice on ToS and it went away.
