What are my options? I usally do not play simply with sword and tend to make a more extraordinary build.
Is there something like a "mage?", i've heard not.

yep just bought it from the gamestore... I made my character but I died a few times and lost all my blood points and I havent really advanced to anywhere

i gotta tell you.. this game is much harder in my opinion from the dark souls games... im still trying to get use to having no shield... I always relied on blocking and now i have just realized it.... LOL

Closest thing to magic in this game are hunter tools, which you don't really get access to until late game. I don't think putting points in Arcane is worth it until later on when you get access to the good hunter's tools and elemental damage gems for your weapons.

I must say I'm really enjoying the game so far, but I miss the diversity in armor / weapons from souls games.. That's probably my biggest gripe with the game so far. Also FUCK the spider boss...
