new steambox controller. Uses 2 trackpads. It is suppose to be as good as a mouse and allows you to play any game that would be designed for pc.

Looks pretty dope

It's just a glorified PC. 99% yes

Better off just building a PC and hook it up to your TV with an hdmi/dvi cable.

Yeah pretty much.

I wonder if it only plays steam games or all PC games like WoW, sc2, league of legends, minecraft, etc.

well it's gonna be running steamOS so if it can run more than just steam games then the game at minimum has to be compatiable with linux still

Thats what I don't understand, there are next to no fucking steam games that are compatible with linux (sure, there are a handful, but the majority aren't).

But I am pretty sure every steam game is supported on SteamOS.

Idk I think it's designed to run games that are made for windows. Either way, PC > steambox > consoles

you will never find me playing filthy PC games, unless it's iRacing or rFactor - games using a wheel.

SteamOS is linux-based so the games will most likely have to work with linux to be playable

why so much hate for PC games?
especially when they can be some of the cheapest games you can get, console games rarely if ever go on sale as cheap as the PC counterparts or as often

there is no way that they are release a STEAMbox with steamOS that only plays an extremly small handful of the steam games

http://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/SteamOS/

"Hundreds of great games are already running natively on SteamOS. Watch for announcements in the coming weeks about all the AAA titles coming natively to SteamOS in 2014. Access the full Steam catalog of nearly 3000 games and desktop software titles via in-home streaming."

might be a linux based OS, but it seems its designed to play windows based games. But yes not all will be playable it seems
