Essentially, the combat works that, even if you are surrounded by dozens of orcs, you can still easily defend yourself.
If ranged orcs join the fight, attack melee orcs and kite them around objects that block line of sight of the ranged orcs. OR go straight for the ranged orcs.
Focusing on 1 target at a time will get you killed, use the block feature whenever it signals. The combat is so extremely fluent.
If you have all your arrows in the middle of the fight, you can headshot most of your quiver before the slow time runs out, even if the orcs are right next to you. Obviously, the more focus you have, the more arrows you can shoot during the time.
If you're trying to kill a captain/chief, use your shoulder slam and your consecutive square attack. This will keep you moving in one direction while significantly damaging your target. If you let go of the consecutive square combo BEFORE you knock them to the ground, you can shoulder slam them again and do it all over again without waiting for them to get off the ground. Also, shoulder slam, consecutive square combo and then execution works well.
