I don't understand this argument. Getting plats gets you the exact same thing as playing games in general.

does it? because i can play a game beat it twice even 3 times and never get a plat..why? becasue they always have stupid shit you gotta go out of your way to do
honestly if i didnt do it in the first place when i was playing it for fun how does making me go out of my way to do it make it fun? its more of a hassle imo and whats the reward? a fake platnum trophy to sit on your account?
the only benefit of having plats and trophies is when sony does the bidding thing for stuff in their commercials and they havnt done that in a while

There is a difference between, "Oh this looks fun I might as well try and get it." and "Oh shit this is going to be hard I need to look up a guide to make sure I get/do everything correctly."

I go for achievements, but the moment it crosses the territory into not being fun anymore I stop. I've been in the party with top tier AHs and when they are grinding out a game they aren't even enjoying it anymore and I don't think the 30 seconds of joy after completing a "challenge" is worth the hours of frustration of forceful gaming.

Because different people find different things fun.
So if playing a game is fun for you so be it. Getting plats is fun for me.
