Ease of access, argument over.

Take a person who knows absolutely nothing about consoles or PC and tell then to play the latest game they could either

Update the DirectX driver on their PC

Or

Insert this disc into a console

And see which they choose.

when you buy a game on steam it literally just pops up with an install button and after its done it asks to update the directx, just need to click yes. Easy as pie

While steam is a great service it's not the only service.
The average person wouldn't know that about steam.

People who don't even play PC games have steam

if they have a few games they should've encountered it at least once
i've had it install stuff when i started up a few games for the first time

agreed, as if any one thinks pc isn't superior in every way...right..?
