A higher level character will not do more damage than a lower level character with weapons
Weapon damages are leveled out and normalized

Even if the higher level character has a weapon that has 2 damage bonus upgrades on the weapon
The bonus damage upgrade only increase attack power/rating which only applies to monsters/PvE and does NOT increase IMPACT damage

So a rifle that takes 8 shots to kill does not turn into a rifle that takes 4-5 shots to kill after upgrading 2 damage bonuses on the weapon

While there are weapons that have higher impact than another of the same class, the firing rate is usually slowed to compensate
Even with this the damage is still within range of a weapon with a higher fire rate and lower damage

All weapon damage is normalized

The only advantages that a higher level has over a lower level character is the passives they unlocked through progression and the armor bonuses

You can never 4-5 shot a character no matter how high your level is or how low their level is unless you get complete headshots with a hand cannon or POSSIBLY a scout rifle

Have already tested this with friends as we wanted to see how it worked and have also looked it up

Fusion rifle is a special weapon, thats why it can one shot. Same with shotgun and snipers.

The only primary that can kill 2 shots, is the hand cannon, if you hit the head both times. OP in crucible

Fusion rifle and shotgun are the only ones that kill one shot body
They are special weapons
I was talking about primary weapons

So it seems the higher your cryptarch level the better ids you get from engrams. ID your low level blues and greens en masse but save your legendaries until lvl 4-5+

I noticed that too. Since im level 5 cryptarch my blues are rares about 90% of the time. But my legendary turned into ascendent energy

Edit: wasting most of my glimmer on engrams since the max is 25k... Sucks.
