Sony Talks New GT5 Features
Track editor, kart racing and weather alluded to by head of Sony Worldwide Studios.
Gran Turismo 5 will feature weather effects, stunt arenas, kart racing and – most excitingly – a track editor according to comments by Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios.
"Not only will Gran Turismo 5 deliver an even more comprehensive set of cars and courses than gamers saw with previous iterations, it will also feature new game-enhancing graphical effects such as damage, night racing and weather," Yoshida told the official PlayStation site.

but I don't get the weather part?
does that mean that for example you're racing in Top Gear test track, then does the game look at top gears test track and actually match the weather to the game?

That would be amazing, but I thought they were just adding like for example rain or ice effect on pavement things like that as far as weather effects? I think something with snow as well.
